Fourth Wall Films revisits Villisca axe on display at Montgomery County History Center in Red Oak - Iowa PBS features Center in "Iowa Road Show"

TUNE IN MONDAY, MAY 25th at 9PM to Iowa PBS' "Iowa Road Show" featuring stops along Highway 34 which includes a stop at the MONTGOMERY COUNTRY HISTORY CENTER in Red Oak, Iowa.

The infamous weapon used in the 1912 Villisca axe murders, killing Josiah and Sara Moore, their 4 children: Herman, Katherine, Boyd and Paul; and overnight friends of the children Lena and Ina Stillinger. This is the real deal--exhibit mark is visible and the noted chip on the corner of the blade as described in grand jury testimony and the coroner's inquest is very evident.

Our thanks to Museum Director David McFarland and his staff for the tour and the excellent work they do in preserving the history of the area and this very tragic story. The exhibits and attention to historic detail are very impressive!
